God of War Laufey dated: February 16, 2027

Santa Monica Studio has put a date on God of War Laufey: February 16, 2027, as a PlayStation 5 exclusive at launch. The studio confirmed it on X.
This is a short piece because the announcement is short too: a calendar date on the table and little new material to dig into. The video in the post mostly stamps the day; it isn’t a trailer packed with big reveals. Still, if you want the live reactions, here’s the original post for you:
What we know
- Launch platforms: PlayStation (PS5). As with other games in the series, a later PC release, if it happens, would come after; there’s no public date or commitment today that it will.
- Lead: Faye / Laufey, not Kratos: the first mainline entry with someone else front and center.
- Physical: the studio has said Laufey will also ship on disc, which tracks given Sony won’t discontinue physical game production until 2028. More in our opinion piece Sony says goodbye to the disc.
In the same context, IGN reports that Cory Barlog noted the next Kratos-led God of War is underway and will connect to Laufey’s story. No release window and no plot details, just confirmation the saga doesn’t end here (as you’d expect).
