Splatoon Raiders launched on 23 July 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. This isn’t another quick-fire turf-war Splatoon: Nintendo frames it as a single-player-focused title, raids, loot, and Salmonids by the dozen.

What’s it about? (no spoilers)

After an emergency landing on the mysterious Spirhalite Islands, you play as a mechanic alongside Deep Cut (Shiver, Frye, and Big Man, the musical trio known as Clan Surimi in Spanish). The goal: explore, grab treasure, and find a way home.

The loop is clear:

  • Head out on raids across very different environments (beaches, lava, caves…).
  • Ink the ground and swim in your color while fighting waves of Salmonids.
  • Return to the hideout ship to upgrade weapons, ink tanks, gadgets, and the base itself with what you found.
  • Head out again as you learn more about the characters and the world you’re stuck in.

You can tweak difficulty anytime (it affects combat, not loot) and play solo or with up to three friends, online (Nintendo Switch Online required) or via local wireless. Playing alone? Don’t worry, a Deep Cut member joins you in a bot buddy on your adventures.

There are also amiibo from the Splatoon series to unlock outfits for the Mechanic; the Shiver, Frye, and Big Man pack launched the same day.

Price in Europe

From Nintendo’s European store (euro countries, VAT included), for example the Irish Nintendo Store listing:

FormatPrice
Digital (eShop / download code)€49.99
Physical€59.99

Download size is about 13.1 GB.

Online multiplayer needs Nintendo Switch Online (sold separately, see our subscription guide). UK storefronts use pounds; always check your region’s eShop.

Who’s it for?

  • If you like Splatoon but miss a proper campaign, this one will click.
  • You’ll have fun if you enjoy the loop of explore → loot → power up for the next run.
  • If you only want classic online turf war, stick with Splatoon 3. Raiders goes a totally different way.
