Xbox Games Showcase 2026: dates and the biggest reveals

The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 (7 June) left a pile of trailers… and, above all, dates. Here’s a roundup: the announced release calendar and the titles worth keeping on your radar. The official source is the Xbox Wire recap, worth a look, by the way.

Biggest / most anticipated

If you didn’t watch the whole showcase, here’s where the good stuff is:

1. Gears of War: E-Day — Centerpiece of the show. Covers the Emergence Day story (Marcus and Dom). Launch 6 October; open beta from 6 August if you pre-order.
2. Fable — New trailer with Hayley Atwell as Isabel; Jack of Blades returns. Release 23 February 2027 (Premium early access from the 18th).
3. Halo: Campaign Evolved — Campaign remake/evolution with new missions (Operation: METEORITE). 28 July (early access from the 23rd). Day one on Game Pass.
4. Persona 6 — The announcement itself; still no firm date. Persona 4 Revival does have one: 18 February 2027.
5. Spyro: A Realm Beyond — First original Spyro in nearly 20 years (Toys for Bob). Spring 2027.
6. Senua — New Ninja Theory game in the Hellblade universe (action/adventure, 2027).
7. DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations — Campaign expansion; 7 July.
8. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy — Prequel; 27 August.

There were also early looks / gameplay for Clockwork Revolution, State of Decay 3 (2027), METRO 2039 (February 2027), and the announcement of Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember (early 2027).

Release calendar (announced)

Here’s a summary of the dates per Xbox Wire (they can change). We’re also noting whether the announcement listed the game as included on console and/or PC for Game Pass, probably the best thing about this console.

Where Winds Meet arrived on Xbox the same day as the showcase (free-to-play, with extras for Game Pass Ultimate).

Anniversary hardware

For Xbox’s 25th anniversary, a new look for the console and controller was announced: the Series X25 and X25 pad (November for the set; the controller solo from October). Personally, I’m into it, I wasn’t a big fan of clear shells before, but this one has that old-school original Xbox vibe I love.

Microsoft also pushed the return of console exclusives: Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will be Xbox exclusives (not timed), while stressing that anything already announced as multiplatform stays multiplatform.

Trailers

If you’re only going to watch a couple of clips from the showcase, Gears of War: E-Day and Halo: Campaign Evolved are the ones that grabbed me most, after all, they’ve always been Xbox’s flagship games.

I don’t know about you, but the Halo I remember from when I was a kid looks just like this trailer… though I’m not going to check, because it definitely isn’t.
