On the radar: Star Wars Zero Company

This month Star Wars Zero Company is also on our radar: it lands August 27, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (~€49.99 on PC and ~€59.99 on consoles, standard edition). It is not day one on Game Pass; EA Play subscribers do get a small discount.

What’s it about?

Developed by Bit Reactor with Lucasfilm Games and published by EA, you play as Hawks leading Zero Company, a crew of misfits and mercs against a Separatist threat. Tactical combat, loadout tinkering, and squad bonds: closer to XCOM with Clone Wars paint than to an action-adventure. Not another Jedi Survivor, in case that was what you were hoping for from the saga.

Here’s how the battlefield looks:

Date, platforms, and Europe pricing

Locked date: August 27, 2026 (same day as Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy). Digital storefronts on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (EA App, Steam, Epic); there’s also a physical standard edition on consoles.

Official Spain list prices, before any discounts:

EditionPCPS5 / Xbox Series
Standard€49.99€59.99
Deluxe (digital only)€59.99€69.99

Pre-ordering any edition adds the Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack (see the image below). Deluxe adds cosmetic packs (Grand Army of the Republic and Shadow Collective) plus five painted weapon themes from the Clone Wars era. Details on the EA page.

If you already pay for EA Play, the subscription discount applies on purchase; Game Pass does not include the game on day one.

Bottom line (and a quick take)

It looks like there’s some humor in it, they lean hard on permanent character death, and the visuals are interesting. Honestly it reminds me a bit too much of XCOM; Bit Reactor isn’t Firaxis, but it was built by people who came from there, and you can tell. Still, I see a bit more dynamism here: not everyone is a generic soldier; you’ve got alien characters, powers, even lightsabers. That said, I devour this kind of game, so I wouldn’t mind sinking 30 or 40 hours into it.

  • Into turn-based tactics and Clone Wars lore: pencil in August 27.
  • Expected a Jedi-style action game: this is a different genre; watch the trailer before you pre-order.
  • The date is also on our releases calendar.
