On the radar: Enshrouded
GameEnshroudedGo to community
Enshrouded leaves Early Access on October 15, 2026 on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro). On Steam the price in Europe is €39.99; Xbox Series X|S arrives in spring 2027. It is not announced for Game Pass, and on Sony consoles online co-op requires PS Plus.
What’s it about?
Enshrouded is an action survival RPG from Keen Games (developer and publisher) set in Embervale, a realm consumed by the Shroud (the game’s corrupting fog). You wake as a Flameborn, explore hand-crafted worlds, loot resources, fight factions and bosses, and build bases with a voxel construction system that lets you reshape terrain and decorate freely. You can play solo or in online co-op (up to 16 players on PC and 8 on PS5, per the PlayStation Store listing).
It is not an MMO: the loop mixes campaign, character progression (skill tree paths for warrior, scout, or mage), and long crafting and exploration sessions. If Valheim or freeform building survival sounds familiar, you’re in the right ballpark, but the focus here is melee combat and magic in a darker fantasy tone. On Steam since January 2024; Keen puts the Early Access community at over five million players.
1.0 closes that phase with performance and quality-of-life work plus new content (Sparkworks and the next step for Adventure Sharing, dungeons, and community worlds). Anyone who already bought in Early Access does not pay again.

Date, platforms, and Europe pricing
Keen’s confirmed date: Wednesday, October 15, 2026. On the PlayStation Store digital unlock is listed at 15:00 UTC (check your local time). Other games share the same day (for example Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse on Xbox and PC); see our releases calendar for each title.
| Platform | 1.0 date | Price (EU) |
|---|---|---|
| PC (Steam) | 15 Oct 2026 | €39.99 |
| PS5 / PS5 Pro | 15 Oct 2026 | See PlayStation Store |
| **Xbox Series X | S** | Spring 2027 |
Steam includes several interface languages; there is no full voice dub (subtitles carry the story). The PS5 listing notes optional in-game purchases and user interaction in online play.
Keen raised the Steam price to €39.99 ahead of 1.0 to match the game’s current scope and post-launch support; if you’ve been in Early Access for months, just update and read the patch notes before opening important saves (big skill and content changes).
Game Pass does not include Enshrouded, and Xbox has no playable version until 2027. On PS5, online co-op needs PS Plus on top of the game. More on subscriptions in PlayStation Plus explained and Game Pass explained.
Bottom line (and a quick take)
I’ve followed Enshrouded since Early Access: it’s not the hardest survival out there, but the building hooks you and the Shroud forces you to prep every run into the fog. What excites me most about 1.0 is Sparkworks: if Adventure Sharing stops being pretty showrooms and becomes worlds with logic, switches, and events other people can actually play, the game gets a long second life.
What I’d weigh: on PC there’s a mature community and mod habits; on console, check storage (~60 GB on Steam) and latency if you’re a large group. The Xbox delay stings if your crew is green, but Keen cited Series X|S quality as the reason.
- Into survival, crafting, and building with friends: one of the bigger October 15 drops.
- You hate grind or long farming sessions: watch gameplay before you buy.
- You already own it on Steam: update on the 15th, no repurchase; back up worlds if you’re cautious.
- The date is also on our releases calendar.
Keen put out a short video with the official 1.0 date announcement (not a long gameplay reel or campaign trailer; just October 15 confirmation and a quick peek at what’s coming):
