This month Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is on our radar: it lands August 27, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (~€49.99 on PC and ~€59.99 on consoles). It’s day one on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass.

What’s it about?

The series takes a hard turn. Asobo seems tired of (or at least has parked) rat swarms as the house trick and wants other horizons: the weight sits on melee combat, exploration, and puzzles, not the tense stealth of Innocence and Requiem. If you’re only here to hide from a tide of rodents, go in with that clear.

You play Sophia, the smuggler we already met in Requiem, but younger: the story sits about 15 years earlier, headed for the Minotaur’s Island (Crete). Focus talks myth, fate, and echoes across eras; I’d rather not tell you much more. What I do want you to see is how it looks: atmosphere, dirty fights, and ruins that ask to be explored.

Where to start in the saga

If you’ve never played the series, you can start here: it’s a prequel. If a nod doesn’t land, when you play Innocence or Requiem you’ll just go “ah, that’s why…”, and that’s fine. If you follow release order, like a lot of fans will, you get the arc the way Asobo told it to the public.

Bottom line

• Got Game Pass and like action with puzzles: pencil in August 27.
• Want the same Requiem loop (stealth + rats): this is a different tone; wait for reviews if you’re unsure.
